ADVICES TO REDUCE THE CHOLESTEROL

  • Olive oil is quitely usefol in terms of its fatty acid ingradients;
  • Oileic acid, a single unsaturated fatty acide in the peanut oil increase good cholesterol, while it reduces bad cholesterol;
  • Garlic contains a plenty amount of potassium, phosphor, selenium, vitains A and C and sulphurous substances. It extends blood veins, reduces coagulation capability in blood and thus prevents embolism;
  • As a good source of herbal protein and fibers, legume should be consumed copiously. Horicot beans, chickpea, lentile, cowpea and reddish shell beans are greatly nutritious and contain protective agants against heart diseases and cancer; and
  • Dry nuts are foodstuffs having critical effects especially in preventing heart diseases. As a result of researches done on snacks such as peanut, walnut, almond, nut, sunflower seed and pumpkin seed that are assumed previously to be harmful against heart diseases as they are oily, they are found to contain agents to protect the heart.

      Consumption of foods such as fruits and vegetables having antioxidant effect should be increased. Weekly meat consumption should be reduced and fish, chicken and turkey should be preferred instead of red meat.
