Lymph Drainage
A century before, in 1892, physician WINIWARTER stated that a positive result could be obtained by draining edematous part of the body by lymphatic edema in treatment of the lymphatic edemas such as stop of eggs by Columbus and this broke a new ground in medical literature. This advice also still continues to be valid.
In cause of edema-dependent swells, protein included in this swell should be transferred; contents of the swell and especially tissue consents should be transferred so carefully; and during such transfer, care should be taken to any inflammatory results.
Especially, it is advised that any brutal massage to be avoided and the tissue massaged by brutal massage manipulations such as Petrisage, Rollen, etc. not to be deteriorated and not to cause any ecchymose.
Even we never want to think that a masseur may apply any hard massages to cause any ecchymose (cyanosis) not only in lymph edematous bodies, but also in sports and other messages. This is only murder suffered by anyone, who knows this job as a message.
Lymph drainage is applied by specific manipulations which differ from other massage manipulations. Any masseur may never apply Lymph Drainage. A masseur, who applies this, should have knowledge of lymph anatomy and physiology and also pathology causing the edema as well as general anatomy and physiology.
